English at the end

Na een razend snelle bevalling dinsdag 19 November is Ella om 14.58 geboren. Woensdag avonds mochten we weer naar huis. Vrijdags bleek haar bilirubine waarde te hoog, ze was te geel. Wij naar het ziekenhuis omdat ze onder de lamp moest. Ze hebben toen nog een paar andere bloedtesten gedaan en haar protein C waarde was veel te hoog, 40 terwijl onder 10 normaal is. Dit plus het feit dat ze de gehele middag alleen maar sliep en niet meer dronk zorgde ervoor dat ze gelijk aan de antibiotica gezet werd via een infuus. Het prikken van het infuus was voor ons, kersverse ouders, geen prettige ervaring, natuurlijk protesteerde ze heel erg maar ja......
Het gevolg van dit alles  was dat we in het ziekenhuis moesten blijven voor minstens 3 tot 4 dagen of zelfs langer. Het werd in totaal een week.
Aangezien ik borstvoeding geef mocht ik ook op dezelfde kamer verblijven, we hadden een prive kamer en alle hulp van de verpleegkundigen. Soms waren we zelfs alleen en hadden dan de verleegkundige voor ons zelf. Wat een luxe. 
Donderdag middag ontdekten we dat ik koorts had, gelijk dokter erbij. Na ook mij leeggeprikt te hebben werd ook ik aan de antibiotica gezet en lag ook ik nu officieel in het ziekenhuis.
Gelukkig kan ik gewoon pillen slikken en mochten we samen gisteren naar huis.
Alle waarden van Ella zijn nu prima en nu maar hopen dat de antibiotica ook bij mij zo snel mogelijk aanslaat.

After a very quick delivery on Tuesday 19th November, Ella is born at 14.58. We went home at Wednesday evening. On Friday they discovered that her bilirubin level was to high, she became yellow. We went to the hospital for that and after a few more blood tests they discovered as well that her protein C was at a level of 40 while under 10 is normal. This and the fact that she had been sleeping the last hours and she stopped drinking made them start antibiotics straight away. She had to get a drip for that. To get the drip in was not funny for us, new and fresh parents, she screamed like hell but what can you do............
All this together made us stay 1 week in the hospital. Because I'm breastfeeding I could stay together with her in a private room. We got all the help we needed from the nurses and some days/nights we were alone so we had a private nurse, it was luxury.
Thursday afternoon they discovered that I had a fever, the doctor came straight away and now it was my turn to get a lot of blood tests. So I started the antibiotics. The good thing is that I can take pills so we didn't had to stay in the hospital for that so we came home yesterday.
Ella is doing fine again and now its waiting until I'm getting better as well.
