First snow

We have our first snow today!

 

 

 

 

Rosehips

 A few weeks ago we picked rosehips (rozenbottels).

I made some jam and juice out of it. Its a lot of work but full of vit. C so very healthy.

Au revoir

After 10 nice days with my parents they went back to Halifax to take the plane to The Netherlands.
We had a nice time with them, going for walks, eating lunch at the bistro where Serge works, helping out in the kitchen, meeting family of Serge, nice conversations and showing them around here.
Thanks mam and dad for your visit and I hope you arrived safely home again.

Amazing

My father had to go to Canada to work voluntary in the kitchen. He helped with scraping and cutting vegetables. He never really helped in a kitchen before.

Visit

English at the end

Afgelopen donderdag zijn mijn ouders hier gearriveerd. Ze hadden al 3 weken door Oost Canada (Nova Scotia en Cape Breton) getrokken met een camper maar zijn dan nu hier in La Pocatière.
Erg gezellig en vertrouwd om ze hier te hebben.
Ze verblijven in een huisje op een prachtige plek aan een meer. Maar we zien elkaar bijna elke dag en doen van van alles of "helemaal niets"  :-).
Naast de heerlijke kaas die ze meebrachten zijn er ook baby kleren van de kleinste maat deze kant opgekomen. Erg schattig allemaal, met dank aan mijn zussen voor het krijgen , wassen en strijken ervan.

Last Thursday my parents arrived here in La Pocatière after 3 weeks traveling through Nova Scotia and Cape Breton with a campervan. Its very nice to have them here. My father can see now as well where and how we live here.
They stay in a cabin on a beautiful spot by a lake. We see each other almost everyday and do a lot or nothing at all :-)
Beside the delicious Dutch cheese they brought with them they took a lot of small baby clothes as well, very cute. Thanks to my sisters for giving it to us and washing an ironing it.
